INTRODUCTION

How do I get started?

If you haven’t already setup an account, do so by clicking ‘signup’ in the upper right-hand corner. Once you’ve created an account, login to Sport-Swap to start buying, selling and swapping.

How does Sport-Swap work?

Sport-Swap is a unique site dedicated to new and used sporting goods. It allows you to buy, sell, swap or trade your gently used sporting equipment for different sizes or models.

We also allow donations of used sporting equipment to be redistributed to under privileged children in local markets.

Unlike Ebay or Craigslist, Sport-Swap is solely a vehicle for people to search and connect with friends and neighbors in order to swap sporting goods/equipment locally.

Who are we?

As parents ourselves, we understand that it’s important to save money where you can, and because kids grow quickly, they are constantly outgrowing clothing, shoes, AND sporting gear/equipment. This is where we came up with the idea for Sport-Swap. We found ourselves purchasing new equipment for our kids even though there was the same, perfectly good equipment still sitting in our garages. It just wasn’t the right size anymore.

Located in southeast Georgia, Sport-Swap was created so people could sell, buy, or swap gently used sporting goods and equipment with friends, neighbors, and other people in their area to help save themselves and others money.

SHIPPING & HANDLING

How do I (seller) ship merchandise?

Most transactions will be handled face-to-face. Choosing to ship out of area is up to the buyer and seller.

How do I (buyer) receive merchandise?

This is coordinated between the buyer and seller. If local, it is intended that you meet up face-to-face to make the transaction. However, if the item isn’t within driving distance, shipping should be coordinated with seller.

What if an item is damaged during shipping?

Most transactions will be handled face-to-face in order to avoid that issue. If you do buy something that requires shipping, Sport-Swap recommends insuring the item(s) for their appropriate value.

What if an item isn’t what was promised?

If an item is not what was promised, please contact your seller. Since all transactions are handled privately, this is your first avenue of contact.

What if the item price isn’t what was charged to my account?

Sport-Swap.com endorses face-to-face transactions in order to quell this type of issue; however, if you're not able to make a local transaction, it is typical to use the PayPal service to purchase your item.

There are two ways to handle a price discrepancy:

First, contact your seller - it may have been a simple error on their part. Second, please contact a representative from PayPal, they'll be able to guide you to an official answer in how to handle this kind of customer dispute.

BIDDING

How do I send the merchandise?

Sport-Swap is designed to find people locally to buy, sell, and swap with, intending that the transaction be handled directly between buyer and seller. We are trying to avoid heavy shipping costs that are often associated with Ebay or Craigslist.

If you choose to purchase an item that is further away that you are willing to travel, shipping arrangements should be worked out between buyer and seller.

Can I change my bid request?

Sport-Swap does not require bidding. We are designed to be a local transaction between your friends and neighbors. There is no need to change a bid request because you will work out a price or swap on your own.

How will I receive my items?

Most transactions will be dealt with face-to-face at the discretions of the buyer and/or seller. Otherwise the buyer and seller will need to coordinate shipping on their own.

May I purchase more than one item per ticket?

NO. In order to keep our costs low and reasonable all listings are designed for single items.

How do I pay for my items?

All payments are handled directly between buyer and seller. Sport-Swap is not involved with the financial transactions of the sale or swap.

How do I know I won?

Unlike Ebay, Sport-Swap does not do bidding for its items. Consider it a local garage sale. If you see an item you like, contact the seller, agree on a price, or agree on item(s) to swap.

How do I receive payment?

All financial transactions are handled between buyer and seller at the point of sale. No money is exchanged through Sport-Swap.com

What if I need to contact a seller or buyer?

Privacy is a huge concern to Sport-Swap. Every listing has a ‘contact seller’ option. This button will automatically send the seller an email to let them know you our interested in an item. If the seller chooses to list his/her phone number you may contact them directly. Everyone that lists an item on Sport-Swap.com is required to give an email address but it will not be seen publicly unless the seller chooses to give out that information.

UNLIKE EBAY there is no bidding. Local, easy, face-to-face trades or transactions at your own convenience. You can search for items as far as you are willing to go to find what you’re looking for.
